Learning a new language can be an exciting yet challenging journey, and one who is dedicated to leading Palmer students on this path is Mr. Fukazawa, our Japanese teacher. In an interview with Mr. Fukazawa, he offered insights into what his class is all about.

Mr. Fukazawa strongly emphasized that his ultimate goal for students is fluency. He has a clear finish line where students cross from not being fluent to becoming fluent in the language. To achieve this, every aspect of his course is designed with one question in mind: "Does this pull you closer to the finish line or not?"

Mr. Fukazawa believes that learning Japanese, like any other subject, doesn't require special equipment or skills. All you need is your brain and the willingness to follow his instructions. This inclusivity means that anyone with the desire to learn the language can join his class whenever.
In terms of class size, Mr. Fukazawa explained that the law sets a maximum limit of 30 students per class, which is usually the case. He also mentioned that split classes can occur, which means students might be grouped differently depending on administrative decisions.
